July favourites

1. Pastel nail polish: Usually i tend to go towards brighter colours but with a tan i find pale colours emphasize your tan. I've been loving my Barry M nail paints in nude, strawberry ice cream. mint green and blue moon this month particularly.
2. maybelline color tattoo 24hr: I have the colour 40-Permanent taupe. This is a lovely matt brown cream eye shadow, it's perfect for the hot weather, lasts a long time without creasing. I've been using it on its own to give my eyes a little bit of colour in the hot weather.
3. Natural collection blush: I have the shade peach melba which is a pale pink, it gives a warm glow to your cheeks and is really easy to apply plus you don't need to apply too much.
4. Rose and almond oil vaseline: With all this hot weather vaseline has been my best friend at keeping my lips moisturized. Also this one gives your lips a slight pink tint so you don't have to worry about applying lipstick.
5. Natural collection wild strawberry body spray: As i'm not a big fan of perfumes as the scents are generally to strong for me i like to go for a body spray. It smells of strawberries which i love and it seems to last forever.

6. Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher: I brought this book as soon as it came out in store in May and finally got round to reading it a couple of weeks back and it was absolutely beautiful. It's one of the books which once you've picked up you can't seem to put down until you've finished it. This has to be one of my favourite books now and i really want to read it again!
7. Going the distance: My friend lent me this DVD a while back but i finally purchased it at the beginning of July and i've probably watched it at least 6 times already, oops? I'm not one for rom-coms but i love this film a lot.

8. Sherlock: After watching the films loads and hearing so many great things about the TV series i finally caved in and watched it over the past couple of weeks and i have to say it was amazing! I love how each episode is like a mini film and i actually really can't wait for the next series to begin!

That's all for this month, thanks for popping by xx

Summer's here

Hello my lovelies, as the weather has been hot in England recently i took the opportunity to make some ice-lollies rather than going out and buying them, spending lots of money. The two in the middle were simply lemonade in one mold and coca cola in the other for the classic ice-lolly flavours then to switch it up i took inspiration from BethanysLife youtube video on fruit ice-lollies which you can see here. Now i didn't really have a variety of fruits but i'd just been strawberry picking so i thought of just using strawberries and adding some water though if you wanted more flavour you can add more fruits or change the water for fruit juice.
What's your favourite flavour ice-lolly?

Beach bag essentials

Hey lovelies! Since the weather is getting hot in England and seems like summer is here i thought i'd share with you my beach bag essentials.During the summer i tend to go to the beach a lot either with family or friends, since the beach is just a 30 minute car/train journey away. My beach bag changes but since i've had my Cath Kidston tote bag i've been using that since it's water resistant which is a plus, it usually fits in all my things... sometimes at a push but i love it! I always take a towel, my sunglasses and sunscreen, i like to use a moisturising face sunscreen with a high SPF as my face tends to burn quickly then just a regular body sunscreen. I then have my phone with headphones so i can listen to my music and a book (i'm currently reading Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher and it's incredible) watermelon gum, my makeup bag with just a tinted lip balm, collections creampuff moisturising lip cream, anti bacterial hand gel and a mirror. I also have my purse for if i wanted to buy a snack; usually with my family we take a picnic to the beach and just buy an ice cream or something which is always good.

What are your beach bag essentials?

DIY bracelets

Hey lovelies!
When i was in town the other day i went into a craft store (Raphael Craft) and saw some really nice things so i thought it was a great opportunity to make my own jewelry. I went to make earrings but then decided to start with something simpler, bracelets. They're really simple to make and don't take too long plus they're really inexpensive!
All you need is what you're making your bracelet from. For me: chain, 9 charms, clasps and rings then a pair of tweezers.

I purchased 9 charms, clasps, rings and a chain. From this
i made 2 bracelets as i had a generous amount of chain.

step one: Take the chain and measure out how long you need it
to fit around your wrist then unhook the loop at the end of
the amount of chain that you need with tweezers.
Step 2: Attach the clasp to the open loop on the chain then
close it using your tweezers
Step 3: Take one of your rings and open it up.
Step 4: Attach a charm to the ring, leaving the ring still open.
Step 5: Then attach the right to the chain then close it so that
it won't come off the chain. Repeat this until you have attached
all your charms to the chain.
Finished bracelets.

June favourites

Topshop nail polish in the colour 'eclipse'
I love this colour, it's a metallic green but has golden shimmery undertones which
is rather interesting. Plus it lasts for a week or so and doesn't chip easily,
for me this is a plus since usually mine chip within the first few days.

Collection cream puff in the shade cotton candy.
I'm loving this lip product so much recently for everyday use. It's a lovely
shade of pink, it looks quite natural on and has a matt finish to it.
The applicator makes it easy to apply.

Mac  amplified creme lipstick in the shade 'craving'
I brought this only a week ago but i'm already in love with it!
It's a gorgeous plum shade yet it's quite pinky. It's creamy,
comfortable on the lips, opaque and is really long lasting. I think
it is really worth the price and i'll defiantly buy another mac
product in the future.

Looking for Alaska
After reading The fault in our stars i instantly wanted to read
another John Green book and after hearing many good reviews
about Looking for Alaska i went and purchased it. I loved this
book and it really gets you thinking even after you've turned the last
page, it's one of the books that you can't put down. I read it in
under 24 hours which is quick for me but it's a breath-taking book
and i'd defiantly recommend it to anyone.

The Audrey Hepburn Collection (Paris when it sizzles)
Now i love films with Audrey Hepburn in so when i realized
i hadn't seen Paris when it sizzles i took it from my mum's
collection of Audrey Hepburn films. It wasn't a disappointment,
i loved it so much and i liked the way how you could see the
growth of the two main characters as the film went on and
at the same time their relationship as they began from basically
strangers. It's interesting how it's both a comedy and a romance
film at the same time but it's pulled off well.

The rocky horror picture show 40th anniversary
After watching the film version of The rocky horror picture show
so many times when i saw it was coming to my local theatre i took
the opportunity to see it live. It was the best musical that i've ever seen.
I loved how the audience got involved and the WHOLE theatre danced to
the time warp. Personally i think that the acting and singing was amazing and
the whole atmosphere was just overwhelming and everyone was enjoying themselves.

An apology and a review

Hey lovelies! Sorry for the lack of posts recently, i've found myself busy with returning back to sixth form and getting everything ready for my college interview. So recently i went through all my "old" makeup from a few years ago and stumbled across this benefit rush hour lipstick, i forgot i even owned this but i've been trying to wear it lately. It's a lovely purple-red and it's really pigmented and bright, i love this colour for a more dressy look so when i went to see Rocky Horror Picture Show at the theatre i thought it'd be a great opportunity to wear it especially since i didn't have anything clothing to really dress up; other than fishnets of course so i thought i'd try my makeup to be more rocky horror like with this lipstick and also a more smokey dramatic eye look to suit the occasion more. I love this product to pieces as it really adds a pop of colour to the look, it also stays on for a long time which is ideal when you're going out. I'm so glad i found this lipstick but unfortunately it's been discontinued which is a shame.

London Haulin

Topshop: Frilly socks in pale blue, grey and black. I love frilly socks and when i saw the 3 for £8 offer i couldn't resist plus they're good quality. I also got a nail polish in the colour eclipse, i've worn it once since i brought it and it's a lovely metallic green which i love. To me it's a perk that it doesn't need many coats and dries fairly quick.
Forever 21: Woven cream sleeveless top, i absolutely love this top for summer and with this warmer weather its the perfect time to wear it. I wasn't too sure about it when i first saw it but then i noticed rather than just being the woven pattern it has a sheer white layer beneath rather than having to wear something underneath which is good. I then found this lovely blue/orange/black patterned sleeveless top, i don't normally wear bright colours but when i saw this i fell in love with it.
Lush: Creamy candy bar bubble bath slice, i'd heard loads of good things about this product so i thought i'd try it out since i love bubble baths. I also got the Charity pot hand & body lotion, when i was at the till the guy serving me recommend it to me and thought i'd try it out for just £1 i couldn't say no. It lasts a long time as you only need a small amount at a time, it makes your hands feel really soft and has this kind of chocolaty scent about it which is a perk.
Merch: When i was at Wembley Arena they had lots of band merchandise and since i had money left over i thought why not. I got McFly's tour top; on the back it has all the different dates from the tour. Whenever i go to a gig and get a top i nearly always make sure it has the dates on the back, i don't know why. I then purchased their wristband, i like how it can be adjusted to fit your wrist.

I hope you liked this post and have a lovely day x

London, London, London

Hey lovelies!
I took a trip to London for the weekend as i was seeing McFly at Wembley Arena and it was incredible! I wont deny, i absolutely love McFly and it was great to see them perform live on tour for the first time ever. While in London i went on a bit of a shopping spree (which i'll do a haul for soon) and took a trip to Covent Garden for the first time which i really enjoyed. I didn't take many photos during the day while i was out since i've been to London so many times before however i managed to take quite a few at the concert which turned out surprisingly well. I had an amazing time in London and can't wait to go back again soon.

Convent Garden

James Bourne as a surprise first act. He was incredible and even
performed some old Busted songs. here you can see a video
of him performing which i took.
The Vamps, i hadn't listened to much of their music before
but they are a really great band!

McFly were amazing! It seemed quite surreal and their set list
was one of the best.  here is a video of them performing.
I met Carrie Fletcher, she was really sweet. (red faced after
dancing around to James and The Vamps)
I also met Alex Day. He gives good hugs.

A little sparkle

MUA in the shade 'Mud Pie'
17 in the shade 'Ultimate Rush'

Hey lovelies! Today i thought i'd do a nude nail look, it's really simple and for me it's a nice change from lots of green shades. The nail polish i primarily use is MUA's 'Mud Pie' it's the first time i've used it since i purchased it but i love it to pieces, it's a really nice nude pale brown though i was expecting it to be a little lighter, but i love it all the same. It's really opaque and only took 2 coats to have a really good coverage and for only £1 it's very good quality. The second colour is 'Ultimate Rush' by 17, i was going through my nail polishes and came across it and it's a really nice pink/purple shade with a sparkle to it. It's a really nice colour and by just applying it to the ring fingers it adds a little colour to the look.

I hope you liked this post, have a lovely day x

MUA 'undressed' palette review

After a year or so of not wearing makeup when i went to wear it again most of it needed throwing out. oops? But i went into Superdrug a week ago and picked up MUA's 'undressed' palette. It consists of neutral and shimmery colours. I've fallen in love with it! It's versatile as the shades are suited to everyday with the top row then when going out or for more formal occasions the bottom row. The quality of it is really good especially considering that it was only £4 so it's very good for the price. To me the only down side to the palette is that each individual shade doesn't have isn't own name which is a shame.

mini haul

Hey lovelies! Sorry for the lack of post recently, i've been busy preparing my coursework for final deadlines so i thought that today i'd do a mini haul showing you a few of the things i've brought recently, even though i'm trying to save up for my weekend in London next month.

This has to be one of my favourite movies but i didn't seem to have it on dvd,
so when i was in hmv and saw it was only £2.99 i couldn't resist.

This is why i love taking a look in charity shops, they
have so many lovely things. Plus i felt guilty having watched
the movie and not read the book.

mua - top clear coat £1, mua - bold blue £1, models own - banana split £5.
I've only tried out banana split so far and i love it! It's a lovely creamy
yellow and it's actually quite scented for the first couple of days then
the scent dies down quite quickly.

Since my current wax tart is almost gone i went out to seek upon
another when i came across this. It has a strong scent to it but
not too overpowering, its quite sweet and to me smells exactly
like vanilla frosting.  whats not to like?

This smells divine, i love it.  It has to be one of my favourite
yankee candles at the moment.

daily skincare routine

Most of my products are Simple as i find they really make a difference to my skin.
I also use  "Love Lettuce" face mask from Lush once or twice every week.

morning:

Step 1. Kind to skin soothing facial toner. It freshens up my skin and makes it feel extra clean. It's great for sensitive skin and doesn't make you break out.

Step 2. Kind to skin hydrating light moisturiser. I love this moisturiser it really hydrates and moisturises plus it doesn't leave your face feeling slippery as it absorbs into your skin.

Step 3. Lush popcorn lip scrub. This really exfoliates my lips and leaves them feeling soft and smooth.

Step 4. Vaseline rosy lips. I use this after the lip scrub to moisturise it in, it also tints your lips a pale pink and smells flowery which i think is a bonus.

evening:

Step 1. Kind to eyes make-up remover. If I've been wearing eye shadow, mascara or something then i'll use this. It's really gentle to the skin and you don't have to rub hard or anything for the make-up to come off removing it really well.

Step 2. Kind to skin refreshing facial wash gel. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean without drying it out

Step 3. Clear skin oil balancing facial scrub - It's gentle to your skin and doesn't leave it red and sore. It does what it says and helps reduce blemishes and controls shine.

Step 4. Spotless skin blackhead eliminating face scrub - This helps clear up spots and blackheads and i noticed a difference within just a few days.

Step 5. Repeat step 1 and 2 from the morning.

books books books...

Since i spend so much time on buses to get to sixth form most days i've started reading more and i thought i'd share some of my all time favourite books.

1. Skin Deep by Laura Jarratt - "After the car crash that leaves her best friend dead, Jenna struggles to rebuild her life. But every stare in the street, every glance in the mirror, makes her want to hide away. And then Ryan turns up - a tall, good looking traveller unlike anyone Jenna's ever met before"
I just love the plot of the book and how it switches between Jenna's and Ryan's perspective of everything what's going on, it's not confusing or anything as the chapter is titled with who's speaking. I found it was really easy to get into and once i get reading it i can't put it down till i've finished it.

2. Everything Beautiful by Simmone Howell - "Riley Rose, atheist and all-round rebel, has been tricked by her father and his irritating new girlfriend into spending her summer at Spirit Ranch Holiday Camp. There Riley meets Dylan Luck, recent paraplegic and fellow misfit-on-a-mission, and together they turn the camp upside down. Truths are told, secrets revealed and Riley's dreaded week away turns out to have life-changing significance..."
I never knew what to expect from this book as i'd never seen any reviews about it but it's a really great book and i really like that even though Riley never intended to learn anything by being there that it changed how she saw somethings for the better, it didn't magically change everything which kept it realistic with what would happen in a week but shows it can still have an effect on you.

3. Dizzy by Cathy Cassidy - "Dizzy's mum left when she was small. But every year, on her birthday, something arrives in the post - a present or a card with her mum's loopy writing on it. Dizzy has kept everything. This year is different. Nothing comes in the post, but something amazing is about to arrive on Dizzy's doorstep. Something that will whisk her away - and put Dizzy's whole world in a spin"
This has been one of my favourite books since i was younger. Cathy has got to be one of my favourite authors! When reading the book it feels as though you're really there, also i just love the whole storyline of the book.

4. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky - "Charlie is a freshman. and while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and the rocky horror picture show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor"
It's a classic coming of age book and loads of people can relate to it. For me i was drawn in from page one, it's written really uniquely and i love that about it plus once you put the book down it still stays in focus in your mind and is genuinely really inspiring.

5. You Against Me - Jenny Downham - "If someone hurts your sister and you're any kind of man, you seek revenge, right? If your brother's accused of a terrible crime but says he didn't do it, you defend him, don't you? When Mikey's sister claims a boy assaulted her, his world begins to fall apart. When Ellie's brother is charged with the offence, her world begins to unravel. When Mikey and Ellie meet, two world collide"
I love how it doesn't focus on the accuser and accused but the brother and sister of the two and their contradicting sides to it all and how their relationship grows and how it affects them. It's a really powerful book and makes you think about people in those situations.

What are your favourite books? xx

Quote of the day:  Don't tell me you're not beautiful. You're the kind of beautiful that the blind would see if we could figure out some way to give them tree seconds of sight - Shane Koyczan
