8 things i want to do this summer

Hey lovelies, i thought i'd do one of these posts as summer starts for me in a few weeks and i have nothing planned but there's always little thing you want to do instead of sitting on your laptop all day.

1. Read at least 5 books. I've been reading a lot more recently and with roughly 3 months off it's a good time to read.
2. Go to the harry potter studios. I'm hoping to go for my birthday.
3. Go on days out! Instead of staying inside it'd be great to spend days in town with friends or down to the coast.
4. Have a doctor who marathon.
5. Try new foods. I tend to the same meals that i know but i really want to try new vegetarian dishes.
6. Get experience in the photography industry whether doing more shoots for people or doing work experience with a company.
7. Do more art.
8. Turn 18!!!

London fun | exhibition days

On Thursday i went back to London with my photography class for a trip to The National Portrait Gallery to look at David Bailey's exhibition, we were also fortunate to get given a workshop in the afternoon at the gallery with different ways to use lighting and backgrounds in the studio, it was really fun trying it all out especially with using different materials for backgrounds than just the standard white or black. The David Bailey exhibition itself was really interesting, portraits aren't what i'm really into but i enjoyed looking at his work and how he'd used lots of different cameras and even just camera phones over the years. I really liked his Camera Phone series room, they were different to everything else and had lots of shapes and colours that stood out to me making them interesting to look at. We also had some time to wander around London for a little so i took the opportunity to film some of my short film for the course since it was a beautiful sunny day out and took a trip to Snog frozen yogurt place by Covent Garden as i'm really loving frozen yogurt and it's becoming a tradition to get some when i go to London lately. It was a lovely day trip to London with my college friends and the exhibition was great. I'll leave you with some photos from the day.

Thanks for popping by,
have a wonderful day.

Book of good things | positivity inspiration

Hey lovelies! Today i thought i'd share with you my "book of good things" as i keep seeing negativity all around and people being stressed with exams and such so i thought this would help inspire you to look at the things that make you happy rather than being stressed and sad. I was inspired by Kat's video which you can find here, it made me want to make my own for when i feel down or anything. I began to make it in November, now i've filled up quite a few pages i thought i'd share a few of my favourite pages. I think having something like this is good because it reminds you why to smile and be happy when you're down to flick through and add things to as the good things are endless. I find my quotes from tumblr and twitter, there aren't really specific places i find my quotes from i could happen to stumble across a positive quote on my tumblr dash and add it to my book.

I found a little notebook with an interesting pattern on in my local The Works store and cut out a blue piece of paper and wrote Book of good things on it then stuck it on to keep it simple while also having what it is on the front cover as i have so many notebooks and don't want to confuse it with them. Also the first page in the book was plain black so i had the idea to write the date in which i started the book so later on i can look back at it and know when i wrote the good things within, when i get to the end i'll add when i finished it.

On the first page i have a list of things that make me smile, this i can come back and add more things to as time goes by. I then have lots of doodles with positive quotes that i've seen places, these ones remind you that you aren't worthless and have meaning and cheer me up when i'm feeling down. My doodles aren't the greatest but they don't have to have loads of time spent on them to make them look stunning it's more something for in the moment and they can look quite cute sometimes.

Generally i add lots of lists from tumblr as i love writing lists. I'll usually read the list then write down the ones that i relate to or change something slightly as most say drink tea and i don't drink tea so i change it to hot chocolate or coffee so it's more personal to me rather than copying it all even if it isn't true for me.

Thanks for popping by.
Stay happy!

Lush VIP bloggers party in Norwich | New products

Hey lovelies,
On Friday i went to the Lush VIP bloggers party in Norwich to celebrate the opening of the Lush Kitchen. Us local bloggers were able to meet up, see the new products and demonstrations of them and take part in some activities. This was my first bloggers meetup that i've been to and it was a lovely event. the staff and everyone were so lovely and friendly the whole thing had a good atmosphere and it was great seeing all the new products and everyone.

We looked at all the new products, i really liked the look of the new bath bombs and they all smelt so lovely. There was a demonstration of Granny takes a dip, it's slow to dissolve but lots of colour oozes out and it all looks really psychedelic and has a spicy citric scent to it. I really want to go back and pick up Sakura which has a floral scent and is inspired by cherry blossom in Japan as it's my favourite flower.  I had a demonstration of Buffy and Strawberry feels forever after my arm felt super exfoliated and soft, it also smelt really nice which resulted in my friends sniffing and touching my arm, bit weird but the products were really good. I will have to go back and pick up Buffy soon it's a really good buffer and isn't harsh on the skin yet still really exfoliates and leaves your skin feeling super soft.

If you took a photo at the event and posted it to instagram with "#lushnorwich" you could make your own comforter and they did it step by step with you which was good. Twisting it around to make the twirl in it is more difficult than it looks, mine was quite delicate and kept wanting to break but it was fun making it none the less.

I was also kindly given a goody bag, along with Fresh From The Kitchen magazine and cards about the Lush Spa and Fresh Handmade Parties Just For You i received Turkish delight shower smoothie, i'm excited to try this out as i've never used a shower smoothie out before and it kind of smells like roses. I also got A french kiss bubble bar, i've never tried this bubble bar before but i can't wait to use it as all the others i've tried have been great, it also smells of lavender which i like but it isn't too strong and over powering. Me and some others were given a sample pot of Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask, again i haven't tried this one but i've been tempted to buy it before so it's great that i can try it out to see if i want to buy the full tub. I'll most likely put up a review of the products i've got at a later date as and went i use them so keep an eye out for that.

Thanks for popping by,
have a lovely day!
