Shades of summer

In the summer i tend to go for more pastel colours | Barry M: Blue moon |, bright bold colours to add a pop of colour to my look | Barry M: Kiwi |, nudes to keep it quite simple | Barry M: Nude | white as it makes your tan stand out | Sinful Colours: Snow me white |  or when i want to add a little sparkle but not want the hassle of removing glitter nail polish i  go for a gold shade | 17: *no shade name* |

whats your must have nail polish for summer?

What's in my bag? | A day in town

Hey lovelies, recently i've been going on lots of little trips into town and going on walks about i thought i'd share with you the "essentials" that i take with me. I don't like to keep loads in my bag and i usually take everything out once i get home so no rubbish remains in there. This is just what i'd take with my for a day in town with friends.

backpack: urban outfitters
I like to switch up my bag a lot but lately this has been my go to bag as well as my satchel but when i want to take a few extra things with me this is the perfect size to fit everything in and have space for if i pick up a snack or buy something while i'm out. The straps are really comfy on my shoulders and they don't dig in, i also really love the print of the bag.

In the front pockets i keep my smaller things so in one pocket i'll put in my bus pass, keys, lip balm and hand gel. In the other i have a pack of gum, headphones and sunglasses, i don't always take my sunglasses but since lately we've had sunny spells so it's always good to take them just in case.

In the main area of my bag i keep my purse, the book i'm currently reading for when i'm on the bus or want to sit down for a little and a jumper for when it gets cooler out. I take my camera with me as well but i was using it but it's the canon 600d, i like taking it around with me when i go out and being able to take a few photos as some of the scenery around is really beautiful.

Thanks for popping by!

Acts of kindness

Hello lovelies, today i thought i'd do another post like my positivity one which you can find here.
We are known to be selfish and think of ourselves a lot, don't get me wrong it isn't bad but sometimes is nice to do something out of the generosity of your heart for someone even just out of the blue whether its simply telling someone you hope they have a good day or something, it can make someone smile knowing you thought of them.
Nowadays the only "compliments" people are given is being called hot or fit. Personally i don't really see them as compliments, it seems no one is really told you look pretty today or i like your outfit it's more about being "attractive" and a set standard but everyone is beautiful in their own way and should be told that every now and again, with the way society puts us down on everything it's nice to be told that someone finds you pretty or anything little like that. Tell your friend that they or pretty or that they look nice today, i'm sure it'll make them smile and they'll really appreciate it.
Spontaneously do something for someone! whether its a family member as you can tell there's a lot that needs to be done around the house, do the washing up or hang out the clothes on the line, or something it'll take stress off them and make you feel good for helping, you don't need to do everything just one or two things to help out. If a friend seems down text them reminding them how great of a friend they are or write them a silly little note to help cheer them up. The little things add up you don't need to do anything extravagant.
Appreciate the people around you, even when walking around in town hold open the door for someone or smile at someone, little acts of kindness can make someones day.

Have a wonderful day!

May Favourites

 1. Tanya Burr lip gloss in the colour Aurora. This has been one of my go-to lip products for the spring, it has really good colour payoff so i'll usually wear it by itself but sometimes i'll put a nude lipstick on before i apply the lip gloss. I've done a review on it which you can find here.
2. Glitter nail polish. Though it can be a pain to remove i've been loving glitter nail polishes during may with rediscovering my Amethyst Glitter polish by Barry M which is mainly glittery blues and purples which go with a lot of my outfits. A couple weeks back i purchased Mermaid from Barry M's aquarium nail polish range this is mainly blue and green with little bits of gold in it, the shapes remind me of confetti and looks really pretty over a mint green polish.

3. Toni & Guy sea salt texturising spray. Lately i've been trying to use less heat on my hair and since my hair is naturally curly by using this it controls my mess of hair rather than looking crazy, it also gives a bit of volume.

4. Necklaces. After rarely wearing necklaces for a year or so i saw some really pretty chokers online, before buying one online i took a trip to my local craft store and the lady there helped me make my own with a pendant for only around 50p!! It was simple to make and i really like the tree pendant that i picked up to go on it. I've worn it basically every day since i made it. The second necklace i've been wearing with it is a rose quartz necklace which i stumbled across while on a trip by the coast. They go really well together and fit with lots of my outfits.

5. MARS. Lately when i go to the library to collect books i've reserved i take a look around the manga section and i stumbled across MARS, it's follows the teenage romance of Kira and Rei. Kira is an introverted artist and Rei is a troubled playboy who is a professional motorcycle racer. They're very different people but as the series go on you see their relationship progress and they find out about each others troubled pasts helping each other to be happy. MARS is made up of 15 volumes which are really gripping and make you want to read on and not put the books down. You can click here to see which books i'm reading at the moment as well.

8 things i want to do this summer

Hey lovelies, i thought i'd do one of these posts as summer starts for me in a few weeks and i have nothing planned but there's always little thing you want to do instead of sitting on your laptop all day.

1. Read at least 5 books. I've been reading a lot more recently and with roughly 3 months off it's a good time to read.
2. Go to the harry potter studios. I'm hoping to go for my birthday.
3. Go on days out! Instead of staying inside it'd be great to spend days in town with friends or down to the coast.
4. Have a doctor who marathon.
5. Try new foods. I tend to the same meals that i know but i really want to try new vegetarian dishes.
6. Get experience in the photography industry whether doing more shoots for people or doing work experience with a company.
7. Do more art.
8. Turn 18!!!

London fun | exhibition days

On Thursday i went back to London with my photography class for a trip to The National Portrait Gallery to look at David Bailey's exhibition, we were also fortunate to get given a workshop in the afternoon at the gallery with different ways to use lighting and backgrounds in the studio, it was really fun trying it all out especially with using different materials for backgrounds than just the standard white or black. The David Bailey exhibition itself was really interesting, portraits aren't what i'm really into but i enjoyed looking at his work and how he'd used lots of different cameras and even just camera phones over the years. I really liked his Camera Phone series room, they were different to everything else and had lots of shapes and colours that stood out to me making them interesting to look at. We also had some time to wander around London for a little so i took the opportunity to film some of my short film for the course since it was a beautiful sunny day out and took a trip to Snog frozen yogurt place by Covent Garden as i'm really loving frozen yogurt and it's becoming a tradition to get some when i go to London lately. It was a lovely day trip to London with my college friends and the exhibition was great. I'll leave you with some photos from the day.

Book of good things | positivity inspiration

Hey lovelies! Today i thought i'd share with you my "book of good things" as i keep seeing negativity all around and people being stressed with exams and such so i thought this would help inspire you to look at the things that make you happy rather than being stressed and sad. I was inspired by Kat's video which you can find here, it made me want to make my own for when i feel down or anything. I began to make it in November, now i've filled up quite a few pages i thought i'd share a few of my favourite pages. I think having something like this is good because it reminds you why to smile and be happy when you're down to flick through and add things to as the good things are endless. I find my quotes from tumblr and twitter, there aren't really specific places i find my quotes from i could happen to stumble across a positive quote on my tumblr dash and add it to my book.

I found a little notebook with an interesting pattern on in my local The Works store and cut out a blue piece of paper and wrote Book of good things on it then stuck it on to keep it simple while also having what it is on the front cover as i have so many notebooks and don't want to confuse it with them. Also the first page in the book was plain black so i had the idea to write the date in which i started the book so later on i can look back at it and know when i wrote the good things within, when i get to the end i'll add when i finished it.

On the first page i have a list of things that make me smile, this i can come back and add more things to as time goes by. I then have lots of doodles with positive quotes that i've seen places, these ones remind you that you aren't worthless and have meaning and cheer me up when i'm feeling down. My doodles aren't the greatest but they don't have to have loads of time spent on them to make them look stunning it's more something for in the moment and they can look quite cute sometimes.

Generally i add lots of lists from tumblr as i love writing lists. I'll usually read the list then write down the ones that i relate to or change something slightly as most say drink tea and i don't drink tea so i change it to hot chocolate or coffee so it's more personal to me rather than copying it all even if it isn't true for me.

Thanks for popping by.
Stay happy!

Lush VIP bloggers party in Norwich | New products

Hey lovelies,
On Friday i went to the Lush VIP bloggers party in Norwich to celebrate the opening of the Lush Kitchen. Us local bloggers were able to meet up, see the new products and demonstrations of them and take part in some activities. This was my first bloggers meetup that i've been to and it was a lovely event. the staff and everyone were so lovely and friendly the whole thing had a good atmosphere and it was great seeing all the new products and everyone.

We looked at all the new products, i really liked the look of the new bath bombs and they all smelt so lovely. There was a demonstration of Granny takes a dip, it's slow to dissolve but lots of colour oozes out and it all looks really psychedelic and has a spicy citric scent to it. I really want to go back and pick up Sakura which has a floral scent and is inspired by cherry blossom in Japan as it's my favourite flower.  I had a demonstration of Buffy and Strawberry feels forever after my arm felt super exfoliated and soft, it also smelt really nice which resulted in my friends sniffing and touching my arm, bit weird but the products were really good. I will have to go back and pick up Buffy soon it's a really good buffer and isn't harsh on the skin yet still really exfoliates and leaves your skin feeling super soft.
Granny takes a dip demonstration

If you took a photo at the event and posted it to instagram with "#lushnorwich" you could make your own comforter and they did it step by step with you which was good. Twisting it around to make the twirl in it is more difficult than it looks, mine was quite delicate and kept wanting to break but it was fun making it none the less.
photo that i posted to my instagram: worldmymixedup

making the comforter bubble bar and my finished product of it.

I was also kindly given a goody bag, along with Fresh From The Kitchen magazine and cards about the Lush Spa and Fresh Handmade Parties Just For You i received Turkish delight shower smoothie, i'm excited to try this out as i've never used a shower smoothie out before and it kind of smells like roses. I also got A french kiss bubble bar, i've never tried this bubble bar before but i can't wait to use it as all the others i've tried have been great, it also smells of lavender which i like but it isn't too strong and over powering. Me and some others were given a sample pot of Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask, again i haven't tried this one but i've been tempted to buy it before so it's great that i can try it out to see if i want to buy the full tub. I'll most likely put up a review of the products i've got at a later date as and went i use them so keep an eye out for that.

have a lovely day!

London: McBusted gig

Hey lovelies!
I went to London on Friday to see McBusted at the o2 arena with my friend Jess, which was absolutely incredible! As we arrived in London around 2pm we decided to get the tube to central London and have a walk around, of course we first popped to china town to have something to eat then went on a stroll from Leicester square to Covent garden looking in book shops and when i saw mac i had to take a quick look inside as i love their lipsticks. Later we headed over to Regent street and Oxford street mainly window shopping. I was on the hunt for a frozen yogurt place as i've only ever brought it from the supermarket and i always see cute frozen yogurt places around London, i found a stall on Oxford street so of course i got one and it was heaven in a pot; strawberry frozen yogurt with oreos on. Shortly after we headed back towards the o2 for the gig. There where three support acts; Young Brando, Vix and 3 Dudes, they were all rather good. McBusted were just phenomenal and had a great mix between busted and McFly songs, even after so many years i can still remember all the lyrics. The whole night was amazing and i wish i could relive it, it's one of the best gigs that i've been to.

I hope you all have a wonderful day

Tanya Burr Lips and Nails: Aurora and Vampire Kiss review

Hey lovelies,
Recently while in town i've purchased purchased two of Tanya Burr's lip glosses from her Lips and Nails line. At first i only brought Aurora on the day her line came out in Superdrug stores which i was super excited about then when i was out with my friends a few days later i couldn't resist but buy Vampire Kiss.

Aurora - Aurora is a coral pink shade with speckles of glitter. It isn't very sticky which i love about it as i was hesitant about purchasing it as in the past the lip glosses i've brought have been really sticky. It's moisturising and really easy to apply. I love that the the shade as it's very neutral and can be worn to give a bit of colour, it stays on for hours so you don't really have to keep reapplying it throughout the day. This will no doubt be one of my go to lip products this spring!
Vampire Kiss - Vampire Kiss is a lovely red shade. I like how this shade is buildable so it can be more subtle or bold. Again like aurora it isn't very sticky, easy to apply and is moisturising however i found that the colour doesn't seem to last as long and you can notice it wear off after a few hours.
Over all i really love the two lip glosses that i picked up plus they smell great too which is always a bonus. I would really recommend these products to anyone who is after a new lip product.

Have you tried out Tanya Burr Lips and Nails?

phandom meetup

Hey lovelies!
Today i went to a phandom meetup in town which me and my friends organised for Easter half term as we had some free time away from school/college work. It's lovely seeing these guys talking about anything and just having a fun time wandering around. We went and did a little shopping while we were out and i picked up another Tanya Burr lip gloss in the shade 'Vampire Kiss' which is a lovely red (review coming soon). We have a tradition of going to BBC television and movie store which helps fuel my love for sherlock, merlin and harry potter with all the things they sell and i had to resist and not buy half the items in the store, after we went in there we took a few photos on Zoe's polaroid camera which were the cutest things. As the day went on the more we kept singing songs from frozen, who doesn't love frozen? Then later on as we were walking through the shopping centre we were about to go downstairs when I looked over and saw Jim Chapman standing there so we went over and said hi, got selfies and had a quick talk with him before he headed off. He was so lovely and sweet, he also gives the greatest hugs. As we carried on walking we saw Tanya and i quickly said hi and got a quick photo with her as she was in a rush but it was lovely meeting her all the same, it all seemed so surreal. Overall today was a wonderful day out.

Lush: BB Seaweed review

Hey lovelies, today i have a lush face mask review for you. A couple of weeks ago i popped into lush after a new face mask as i'd almost finished mine, instead of going for my trusty cupcake face mask i wanted to try something new and after a nice chat with someone who works there i picked up their BB Seaweed.

"A calming fresh face mask with fresh seaweed, ground almonds, rose absolute and aloe vera to soothe and soften the skin. We also use rosemary oil for its regenerative qualities, kaolin to remove any excess dirt or oil, and millet flakes to gently exfoliate away dead skin as you scrub it off" The mask does everything it says it does and reduces redness of skin. My skin has really noticeably reduced in redness since using the product only twice so far. You don't need to apply too much and the scent is quite subtle and it's easy to apply. It has left my skin feeling soft and moisturised. I'm loving this product and i'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a new face mask. It's reasonably priced at around £6 for a pot as a little goes a long way with it and you'll get at least 5-6 masks out of it.

What's your favourite face mask?

Have a wonderful day

An Appology

Hello lovelies,
Sorry i've been inactive from blogging for a while, i started college studying photography, from this i've been working on it 24/7 along with other opportunities that it's bringing me but now the year first year is coming to a close i thought i'd try picking up blogging again. I've wanted to for a while now but then something came up so since i have a few weeks off for Easter i thought this was the perfect timing after many months to finally get back into it. I have to say i've missed blogging and i have a few upcoming posts planned.

I have a goodreads account for my reading obsession which you can find here and a flickr with all my photography work, mainly college work or other events here.
